What are the advantages and disadvantages of defense in handball?

The first advantage of the 3:2:1 offensive defense in handball is that players learn to actively disrupt the opponent's play. It is not necessarily about persistent fouls (which should never be the goal of the defense), but rather about subjecting the opponent to fair physical and mental pressure. Because of this pressure, the opponent is forced to lose the ball easily due to bad passes or technical errors. These small turnovers of the ball are always the target of offensive defense in handball.
