Rising water pollution due to untreated industrial effluents and sewage is a major environmental concern in cities across India today. Chhatarpur, located in Madhya Pradesh, is no exception. The city is witnessing rapid industrialization and population growth, leading to increasing wastewater generation. Without proper effluent treatment systems, most of this wastewater flows untreated into rivers, lakes and ponds around Chhatarpur. To address this critical problem and meet regulatory discharge norms, the industries and municipalities must urgently install efficient Effluent Treatment Plants (ETPs) and Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs).
