Hypercholesterolemia doesn’t exhibit symptoms in the initial days, but when the condition is severe, it manifests with cardiac problems or chest pain, bradycardia, dry skin, edema in the extremities, and jaundice. Those with familial hypercholesterolemia show bumps or lumps around elbows, knees, and knuckles; swelling or pain in the back part of the foot above the ankle; and a whitish-grey, half-moon-shaped portion in the eye.
