AUG East Consortium & NEC to Build 8,900 km High‑Capacity Subsea Cable
A Singtel-led consortium—including AWS, Microsoft, Chunghwa, Globe & others—has engaged NEC to build the 8,900 km AUG East submarine cable linking Singapore, Japan and seven East Asian countries. Set for completion by Q3 2029, it’ll deliver ultra-high-capacity bandwidth for AI, HD video and resilient connectivity.
